NOTICE OF CLOSING OF THE OFFICE OF THE INDEPENDENT INQUIRY COMMITTEE

December 8, 2006 – The Office of the Independent Inquiry into the U.N. Oil- for-Food Programme (“IIC”) will be closing its office effective December 31, 2006. For a period of two years (“transition period”), the IIC will continue to have limited staff available to assist the United Nations with responding to requests for assistance from law enforcement and regulatory authorities.
